Presentation Summary:
The dynamics of commodities have changed. Since 2005, financial entities have established a controlling interest in commodity futures, including ag, creating a situation where the different market sectors increasingly move in tandem with each other. At times this means that ag futures and cash markets can sometimes lose touch with each other, making hedging harder. Financial trading programs are becoming more sophisticated, driven by more complex algorithms or simple world and financial news headlines.
Key benefits for
those in attendance:
Attendees will improve their ability to market ag commodities by learning how to look at ag-commodity marketing through a new prism that reflects the changing dynamics that tie commodity markets together. |
